⚙️ Tech Developed on Behalf of the US Government
iolite secure wasn’t born in someone’s garage - it began in a government lab.
MITRE, a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), developed a powerful toolset designed to detect and mitigate threats in operational technology (OT) environments. Originally created for military use, the toolset was built to secure edge systems - often remote, isolated, and lacking built-in defenses - by increasing their resilience against attacks.
When Highway Ventures saw the potential for this technology to be adapted and scaled for commercial impact, they partnered with VentureWell to bring iolite secure to life. iolite was launched to do one thing exceptionally well: protect the physical infrastructure that keeps our world running.
🧠 Why It Matters
Traditional security tooling was built for information technology (IT), which focuses on data, information, business systems and communications. OT focuses on monitoring and controlling physical processes and equipment such as industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), programmable logic controls (PLCs) and sensors, among other operational assets.
OT systems power our most critical infrastructure such as water treatment plants, power grids, warehouses, and transportation networks. These environments were not built with cybersecurity in mind.
iolite offers a solution that empowers operators to maintain control while giving security teams the visibility and guardrails they need. The result is security without disruption and resilience without added complexity.
